Resulting from the hard work of the team, the reliability issues found with ULM014 were resolved allowing the team to take the car on its first test day of the academic year at a mystery, undisclosed location. The vital information acquired from this test day, notably from the newly implemented telemetry system, revealed crucial improvements which could be made whilst also allowing the new third years to see the car in action and have their first hands-on experience of the year.

FSUK19 Update

The team achieved 1st place in ‘Cost and Manufacturing’, an event that involves a full breakdown and justification of the processes and costings used to produce the car. The judges commented on our innovative use of virtual reality to convey this information, something unique to our entry that no other team had attempted. The team also achieved 13th and 23rd places in the Business and Design events respectively. Overall, the team finished 5th out of the Russell group universities, a result we are extremely proud of.
Throughout our time at Silverstone, the car attracted a large amount of attention from spectators, engineering professionals and peers due to the attractive aero package, carbon fibre monocoque and direct suspension setup. It was encouraging to hear the positive feedback from the judges and other teams at competition.
The whole ULM014 team would like to give a massive thank you to all our committed and crucial sponsors who made building the car possible and the rising, new ULM015 team is extremely grateful for your continued support. We are extremely excited to make this the most successful ULM car in history.
